Lettuce-Wrapped Burger
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef (or any ground meat of your choice)
Salt and pepper to taste
4 large lettuce leaves (such as iceberg or butter lettuce)
Tomato slices
Onion slices
Pickles (optional)
Condiments of your choice (mustard, mayo, etc.)
Instructions
Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat.
Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties. Season each patty with salt and pepper on both sides.
Place the patties on the preheated grill or grill pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the desired level of doneness is reached.
While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. These will serve as your burger "buns."
Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a couple of minutes.
Take one lettuce leaf and place it flat on a plate. This will be the bottom "bun" of your burger.
Add a cooked patty on top of the lettuce leaf.
Layer on tomato slices, onion slices, pickles (if desired), and any other toppings you prefer.
Add condiments of your choice, such as mustard or mayo.
Take another lettuce leaf and place it on top of the burger as the "bun."
If needed, secure the lettuce-wrapped burger with a toothpick or wrap it in parchment paper for easier handling.
Repeat steps 6-11 for the remaining patties and lettuce leaves.
Your bunless burgers are ready to be enjoyed!
