lettuce-wrapped burger

Lettuce-Wrapped Burger

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (or any ground meat of your choice)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 4 large lettuce leaves (such as iceberg or butter lettuce)

  • Tomato slices

  • Onion slices

  • Pickles (optional)

  • Condiments of your choice (mustard, mayo, etc.)

Instructions

  • Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat.

  • Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties. Season each patty with salt and pepper on both sides.

  • Place the patties on the preheated grill or grill pan. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the desired level of doneness is reached.

  • While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. These will serve as your burger "buns."

  • Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the heat and let them rest for a couple of minutes.

  • Take one lettuce leaf and place it flat on a plate. This will be the bottom "bun" of your burger.

  • Add a cooked patty on top of the lettuce leaf.

  • Layer on tomato slices, onion slices, pickles (if desired), and any other toppings you prefer.

  • Add condiments of your choice, such as mustard or mayo.

  • Take another lettuce leaf and place it on top of the burger as the "bun."

  • If needed, secure the lettuce-wrapped burger with a toothpick or wrap it in parchment paper for easier handling.

  • Repeat steps 6-11 for the remaining patties and lettuce leaves.

Your bunless burgers are ready to be enjoyed!
