Steak with Asparagus

Steak with Asparagus

Ingredients

  • 2 steaks (such as ribeye, sirloin, or filet mignon)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

  • Optional: Fresh herbs for garnish (such as parsley or thyme)

Instructions

  • Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Season the steaks generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  • Drizzle olive oil over the steaks and rub it in, making sure they are evenly coated.

  • Place the steaks on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust the cooking time to your desired level of doneness. Remember to adjust the cooking time based on the thickness of your steaks.

  • While the steaks are cooking, heat a separate skillet over medium heat and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  • Add the asparagus to the skillet and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the asparagus is tender-crisp. Adjust the cooking time depending on the thickness of the asparagus spears.

  • Once the asparagus is cooked, remove it from the skillet and set it aside. Add the butter to the skillet and let it melt, then squeeze the lemon juice into the skillet and stir to combine.

  • When the steaks are cooked to your desired level of doneness, remove them from the grill or skillet and let them rest for a few minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

  • Plate the steaks and spoon the garlic lemon butter sauce over them. Arrange the cooked asparagus alongside the steaks.

  • Garnish with fresh herbs, if desired, and serve immediately.

Enjoy your delicious steak with asparagus!
